How to Cut a Bell Pepper in 40 Seconds

If you haven’t spent much time in the kitchen, then cutting, prepping, and cooking may not be in your repertoire. Today, we’ll help you sharpen your slicing skills – because cutting a bell peppers doesn’t have to be hard – in fact, it’s quite easy. So let’s get started!

Equipment needed:

  • Chef’s knife
  • Cutting board

Step 1: Wash your pepper

Run the pepper under water to rinse off any pesticides and other gross stuff.

Step 2: Cut off top and bottom

Place the pepper on the cutting board, and cut off the bottom and top. Make sure to watch your fingers while cutting and be present in the situation. No one wants a bloody bell pepper!

Step 3: Open up your pepper

Make a small slice in the middle of the pepper. Then rotate it around, cutting off the white layer as well as the middle seeded area. Be sure to get most of that off because it’s not particularly tasty.

Step 4: Slice your pepper

In the video, we julienne the pepper (slicing in long thing strips), but you can chop your pepper any way you like – or as the recipe calls for it.

Step 5: Enjoy
