Why? We all want to age gracefully, but decreased flexibility and balance sure make that hard, and put us at risk of injury. These areas need special attention for our overall health and safety.
How: Yoga and Pilates workouts integrate flexibility, core, and balance work simultaneously. Classes are great options—or you can practice on your own. You can also focus on stretching all major muscle groups after workouts or on active rest days. Be sure to also target all muscles of the core to build better stability and decrease your risk of injury during strength and cardio workouts.
