Recipe: Chocolate Mint Protein Shake

Just because you’re trying to stay on track this holiday season, it doesn’t mean you have to skip all the yummy, festive flavors of the season. Add a splash of eggnog to your morning bowl of oats, sprinkle some cinnamon on your afternoon cup of Greek yogurt, and try out this minty recovery shake after your workout. It’s packed full of protein (nearly 25g per serving!) along with just the right amount of fat and carbs to help you feel your best after a heavy sweat session, plus you get to indulge a little bit with yummy chocolate. Mint Chocolate Chip Protein Shake

Makes: 1 serving



  • 1 cup unsweetened soy, nut or cow’s milk
  • 1 heaping scoop of chocolate protein powder*
  • ½ ripe banana
  • 2-3 drops of peppermint extract
  • 1 tablespoon semisweet chocolate chips
  • Ice cubes


Combine all ingredients in the carafe of a blender. Blend on high-speed until smooth and creamy (with some chocolate chunks). Serve immediately.

*If you’re using unsweetened protein powder, either add in the full banana, or add a few tablespoons of honey to taste.

Nutrition per serving: 273 calories, 9.2g fat, 25.5g carbs, 24.6g protein
