Food memories are a big part of my life, and certainly childhood. I remember being so excited when my mom made Fruit Pizza for summertime dessert. The recipe wasn’t too complicated, or exact, so we could help. And the best part: It involved “decorating.” My sister and I would discuss which fruit to choose, and how we would rotate the colors and textures into a design. This was serious stuff!
At the time, my favorite fruit was kiwi—and I don’t think it had anything to do with the taste. Mostly, the bright lime green color was so fun, and complemented all the strawberries and raspberries we were sure to add.
But cutting it was tough. I remember doing a pretty bad job, or asking for help. So when I recently learned of this quick tip to cut a kiwi, I couldn’t wait to tell others! How have I never seen this?! Forget slicing the sides; all you need is a knife and spoon. Take a peek, and your kiwi cutting days will never be the same.
