It’s easy to get caught up in all the festivities during the 4th of July! But just because you have the day off, doesn’t mean you should skip your workout! So with your best interest in mind, we’ve created a group workout that won’t pull you away from the party. Celebrate this Independence Day with a little friendly competition—a Family Fourth Workout!
Family Fourth Workout
Directions: You’ll need four people to complete a 4 x 4 (4 exercises, repeated 4 times). Get ready to have some fun!
- 4 x 400 Meter Relay: each participant runs 400 meters. Pass a baton or high-five between runners, if competing against other teams of 4.
- 4-Arm Plank: each participant holds a forearm plank for 40 seconds (modify by dropping to the knees if necessary).
- 4-Legged Crab Walk: assuming reverse table pose, each participant will race a distance of 40 yards.
- Figure-4 Squats: assuming figure-4 pose, each participate will complete 40 squats on each leg.
Repeat 4 times
We strongly suggest doing a little 4-ward folding before and after the workout to stretch out the hamstrings!
