The gym consultation
Every journey has a starting point. How are you supposed to know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’re starting from? Set up a consultation with your club manager or trainer to delve into your fitness goals. What’s the most important thing you want to achieve? The more detailed your goals are, the better chance you have of crossing that finish line.
Feeling shy? Don’t worry, that’s normal! Let me tell you from experience, your AF managers and trainers are eager to help you, so put your mind at ease!
Get to know your club
Feeling at home in a new gym can be a challenge. New machines stare you in the face, with an array knobs, levers, pins, and buttons. Don’t let that deter you from tackling them head-on! Your club manager and trainer are more than happy to help you learn how to use your new equipment to the best of its potential. You can also check out dozens of exercise demo videos from the convenience of your computer!
Does your club offer fitness classes? Find out! Group fitness can be an amazing form of accountability community, and it’s just plain fun! Some locations offer classes like yoga sculpt, Zumba, bootcamps, and boxing. Many also provider Fitness on Request, which you can do ANY time of day, even if you want to get your dance on at 3am.
Also, make sure to ask if your club is holding any contests (Biggest Loser type contests are always popular) or have other fun things going on. Your club’s community board is a good place to look. Or just ask your club staff.
