News Anchor Responds to Being Called Obese on Air

Jennifer Livingston, a WKBT reporter, took her personal story live on the air. After receiving a letter that she deemed “cruel,” she took to the airwaves to discuss the issue of weight and bullying.

Jennifer says she tried to laugh off a viewer’s letter, which read in part, “Surely you don’t consider yourself a suitable example for this community’s young people, girls in particular. Obesity is one of the worst choices a person can make and one of the most dangerous habits to maintain.”

But this issue brings up a very important question…

How should someone go about discussing health issues with others?
