If You Track It, The Weight Will Go

Take it from someone who has done it – weight loss is no easy task. But in the end, it’s SO worth it. I bet you want my secret, huh? Well, I didn’t take any pills, I rarely used protein powder, and there wasn’t any “dieting.”

I simply used Anytime Health.

According to the chart in my doctor’s office, I had just entered the obese category. So, when our corporate office in Minnesota started a weight loss challenge, I reluctantly signed up.

Over the next few months, I transformed my eating and workout habits, slept better, and balanced work and life. I stayed on track with Anytime Health. I used it to log my food, drink, workouts, and other activities.

I wouldn’t have been as successful with the support Anytime Health:

This isn’t a sales pitch. It’s a statement of fact based on my experience. And a spate of recent studies backs me up:

A new review of 18 randomized studies finds that computer-based and online programs do, indeed, help people who are overweight or obese drop weight and maintain that progress. via Scientific American

Now, you might be asking yourself:

Set Goals

Anytime Health is perfect for those who want to lose weight because it has a goal tracker built in.

It goes beyond tracking, though. After you choose how much weight you want to lose per week, it calculates two numbers: a daily goal for calorie burn (exercise) and calorie intake (eating). I am terrible at math, so this helped!

Journal Your Food

Take one week and track everything you eat with the food tracker. Then at the end of the week look at the calories you are consuming. If you are over your goal, you should find where you can improve.

Nutrition is 70% of the battle. Focus on maintaining a healthy and balanced diet.

Log Workouts

If you want to lose weight, you have to work out. Simple as that. But that doesn’t mean you have to run a marathon today. Start slow, work your way up, and track everything. If you can only do 10 minutes on the elliptical, great! We all have to start somewhere.

Make sure to enter your activity in the activity tracker! Just find the activity from the list and enter the time, easy peasy!

Plan Ahead

One thing I found helpful during this time, was creating a plan of my workouts every week. I would spend Sunday night figuring out what days I would exercise.

Then I would plan out my workouts in the workout planner.

Using this tool, you can also, assign reps and weight, add custom exercises, and even watch instructional videos to learn how to use gym equipment.

Get Help

Did you know that Anytime Health has personal trainers online ready and willing to answer your fitness and nutrition questions? Without getting answers to my questions, I don’t know if I would have gotten as far as I did. Never underestimate the power of knowledge!

Losing weight doesn’t have to be painful. You can do it. You just have to decide what to do and go do it. Stick to it and you will see results!
