How to #SurviveOn35: Challenge Recap and Winners

Inspired by their experience on ABC’s Secret Millionaire, the co-founders of Anytime Fitness challenged ten FitFluential bloggers to eat healthy for $35/week.

$35 is not a lot of money for an entire week, but these 10 bloggers proved that it is possible to eat healthy (and tastily) on a budget!

Meal planning was essential for the participants to stay within their budget. Creativity was also important in order to prepare diverse, healthy meals that are both inexpensive and tasty. The participants were no strangers to leftovers, but eating out proved to be beyond their budgets.

Choosing the best out of these fantastic folks was a challenge in itself! It was VERY tightly contested, but in the end we had to pick just two, based on creativity, taste, health, budget, and a few intangibles. The winners were announced last night during the #Surviveon35 Twitter chat.

And the winners are…

Lindsay Livingston, who blogs at The Lean Green Bean and Annie from MamaDweeb. You both really rose to the challenge! Congratulations!

Lindsay wowed us with her organization, delicious meals and social engagement. She has chosen to donate her $1,000 to The Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

MamaDweeb moved us with her story, and impressed us with the added challenge of feeding 5 mouths. She has chosen to donate her $1,000 to KS Breadbasket.
