The Golden Rule: Would You Donate a Kidney to a Stranger?

Every once in a while, you come across a person who goes above and beyond. This person may be the woman who waits just a little longer to hold the door open for you, or the guy who pulls over when he sees a car on the side of the road.

But in this instance, we’re talking about Anytime Fitness owner Radley West of Lake Murray, South Carolina, who is donating a kidney to one of her members.

Anyone who knows Radley and Andrew West, know that they are people of true virtue. They demonstrate a sense of community, not only in their work, but also in their lives as a whole. As we all know, this characteristic is important – perhaps paramount – to building strong relationships.

Radley is donating one of her kidneys to an Anytime Fitness member in need. Not a blood related family member, not a life-long friend – just a guy who needs a second chance.

“It’s just putting yourself out there and helping somebody else out with something that you don’t really need,” Radley said. “I don’t need that extra kidney.”

I’ve seen countless inspirational stories since I started at Anytime Fitness, but this one takes the cake. Check out their story.
