The Weight of the Union

Every year, the President gives a State of the Union address to members of Congress and the general citizenry to report on the current condition of the nation, and to chart a plan for moving the country forward. Two days after Obama’s second address since taking office, Anytime Fitness is offering its own barometer for measuring progress — a report called the “Weight of the Union.”

Throughout 2010, data was gathered to capture the fitness and nutritional habits of Anytime Fitness and their one million plus members — and for the most part, the results are encouraging. Perhaps that’s because Anytime Fitness eliminates the physical and emotional barriers that prevent individuals from wanting to get healthy.

Here is just a sampling of what the report revealed (the entire report is below):

24 hour accessibility enabled members to work out over 900,223 times between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m. – that’s 2,466 night owl workouts a day.

Anytime Health’s tracking capability, expert advice, and community support helped members lose over 900,000 pounds and burn more than 150,000,000 calories.

As we embark on a new year filled with well-intentioned resolutions, let’s endeavor to stay the course and support one another along the way –especially when times get tough.

Let this report be a reminder, that while we will undoubtedly encounter setbacks, we are headed in the right direction –and there is no doubt that the state of Anytime Fitness and Anytime Health is strong!
